Aaron Reynolds & Peter Brown - Creepy Carrots

I've spent a lot time with Aaron Reynolds's book, Creepy Carrots. I read this book to every kindergartner, first, second, and third grader at Bristol Bay Elementary School in preparation of an author visit. Creepy Carrots is a great story about a rabbit named Jasper, but this story comes to life with the beautiful, visually engaging illustrations created by Peter Brown. In the video below, Peter Brown walks us through his mental planning and physical creation of the illustrations found in Creepy Carrots.
Enjoy!

Welcome to My Digital World

OK... So I've been toying around with the best way to organize digital information found on the web that's important to me. I have tried Delicious to save my bookmarks and Pealtrees to cultivate my web interests, but these tools weren't enough. I like them both individually, but I want something that is an all-in-one where I only need to log in once. My perfect web based tool will curate my favorite places on the web that I can access with any device, allow me to jot notes down, perhaps in the form of posts??, and make those notes searchable, perhaps by tagging them?!? I'm hoping that a blog tool such as Blogger will do the trick.

I do not plan on using this blog in the traditional sense that blogs are used. Typical blogs have themes. The only theme this blog will have is me, Nicky Fairless... everything else included will just be random likes. I do not plan to post regularly... as one would when really blogging. You can follow along if you'd like, but my intention is not to attract followers, just curate information. If you have information that interests me, I might be following you!

To the right are several links to my favorite places. These links are organized by category, such as Decorate for links to decorating themed blogs, or Tools for links to web tools I like, or Library for library related stuff... you get the picture.

There is also a social media list where you can find me on just about every platform... so feel free to tweet up, Facebook friend me, or follow my Pinterest boards. The more friends the merrier!
